I am in the Departments of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Biomedical Engineering at The University of Michigan.

My research area is the area of Rehabilitiation Engineering, which in general terms can be defined as the use of engineering to help people with disabilites. Specfically, I lead the University of Michigan Direct Brain Intefaceproject which is researching Brain Computer Interfaces.
